Despite being the interior colours du jour for far longer than a couple of jours now, pink and green are still enjoying huge success when it comes to home decoration.

In fact, Pinterest reports that searches for the two colours are up 1,150% collectively.

So how to do it in your own home, no matter what your budget? Read through for some inspiration.

Mix and match pink and green tableware

A good tip for renters unable to paint or tile their walls; give your crockery the pink and green treatment. Look no further than H&M Home, which has a great selection of pink and green plates and bowls. Mix and match textures, sizes and designs for the best effect.

Invest in pink and green floor tiles

Make your bathroom or kitchen into great fodder for phenomenally popular Instagram account I Have This Thing With Floors  with pink and green floor tiles.

These Moroccan-inspired ones are great, ditto for these Russian ones.

Opt for pink kitchenware

Painting your kitchen cabinets or walls a shade of green is a lot less daunting than painting them pink. So do that, then opt for pink accessories.

Sure there's that Smeg fridge. But on the cheaper (and more realistic) end, Senseo does this pod coffee machine, Dualit has this pink toaster  and there's even, if you must, this pink microwave.

If new appliances aren't really within your budget, go for pink tea towels, coffee and tea tins, and the rest.

Senseo Viva Café Pod Coffee Machine, £82.99, available at Fruugo
Dualit Lite 2 Slot Toaster, £57.90, available at The Hut
Candy Rose Pink Microwave, £54.99, available at Dunelm

Invest in the pink chair you know you want

Thanks to the explosion of millennial pink this year, there's now a ton of absolutely stunning armchairs, sofas and pouffes on sale. Truth be told, despite their exciting colour, they do best in minimalist rooms. Think white walls with a smattering of green houseplants, or against a statement wall of dark green.

Steer clear of green cushions or palm cushions to avoid overload.

Rockett St George The Lovers Velvet Chair, £499, available at Rockett St George
Maisons Du Monde ICEBERG Scandinavian Pink Sofa, £388.50, available at Maisons Du Monde

Use houseplants

Duh. See Lotte Van Baalen's infamous Plants On Pink Instagram for all the necessary inspiration. Get painting that statement wall, then enjoy lining up your prettiest plants in front of it.

Mix in other colours

Pink and green aren't the be-all and end-all, you know. They are a trend that will eventually pass (although probably not for a long old time). Future-proof your interior investments by adding in extra colours – like this turmeric yellow, for instance.

Stock your pink shelves with all things green

One for those who don't want to or can't commit fully to painting and retiling their rooms. Paint a shelving unit (or just a single shelf) and stock with all things green in different hues and textures.

Invest in some pink and green prints

These do not have to be palm print-based! Although there are a lot out there to choose from. This, by Gabriela Fuente, is a different take on the palms-on-pink thing.

Otherwise, check out these Matisse-inspired works from Tide Studio.
